Yes! I’m a net enthusiast and think the non-boxes add character to certain grounds. Witton Albion have lovely nets. Luton used to always have nice baggy non-box nets, but I see they’ve succumbed in recent years.

If you are going to do box nets they need to be done properly, like in U.S.A 94

Leyton orient still had none box nets till recently. Only changed to the sterile box nets last year or so, probably told to by the FA. As you say just another example of the game losing its character and colour

I went to Real Zaragoza last season and they had enormous nets. Real retro look.

Haven’t been able to get on much lately, been up the wall.

Went the Marine game, purely on the basis that 1st Round Proper doesn’t happen every day, so was a good experience.

Sadlg Harrogate with their “Always the Victims”, “Sign on” etc let themselves down, a real nasty bunch.

I’m off to a Danish game at the weekend, otherwise would have went to Atherton away, £10 in, some of best footie food I’ve ever had, gutted.

Great game today at Prescot Cables 5 v 1 Trafford , two teams that got the ball down and played decent football. Cables are 2 points clear at the top of the table and play 2nd placed Stalybridge Celtic next Saturday, should be a good day out pre. Man U.

Saw Welling beat Taunton on pens in the Fa trophy tonight after a dire 2-2 draw. Welling were fortunate to go through.

Went round the corner to Wallasey today for Ashville v South Liverpool in the FA Vase , it was called off after a second pitch inspection at 13.55 !. Finished my pint and went home.

Very unhappy with East Midland Trains for cancelling my Forest Train

I had a ticket for Forest but gave it up because of the trains. Saw Beckenham 2-3 Lancing on Tuesday. Beckenham look relegation certainties.
Then against my better judgement went to Sevenoaks against Welling in the Kent cup on a freezing Wednesday night.
Welling fielded a team of trialists, young lads and a couple of fringe players.
I got the early train home with the score 7-1 in Sevenoaks favour

My two first choice games were called off today so I ended up at Trafford v Widnes. Got soaked, not a great game but at least I’m out of the house (and in the boozer)

Went to FC United - Marine on Saturday where despite several suggestions it would be off before we set off, the club insisted it would go ahead.

Got there, had a boss scran and called off… at 2:59pm

Lost 1-0 to Morpeth last night, cosch broke down on the way back, and players didn’t get home until 6:30am this morning. A horrible journey for a Tuesday night that.

I've had about 5 games I was planning to go to called off. Bloody rain.
Apart from my son's u8 team who never call matches off despite my occasional guilty hopes. Saw him in vertical rain and about 30 mile winds on Saturday
