Non League Football

I've had about 5 games I was planning to go to called off. Bloody rain.
Apart from my son's u8 team who never call matches off despite my occasional guilty hopes. Saw him in vertical rain and about 30 mile winds on Saturday 🙄

Typical isn’t it.

Never kids football, no weather is bad enough to postpone kids being off. Very frustrating

Mate, rugby is even worse.

My lad once played in ankle deep snow at a tournament in Cumbria, which went ahead, despite the roads around the ground it was taking place being closed !

There was kids stood there crying and legging it off the pitches it was that cold lol

Not non league as such but I'm in France and just saw a ligue 2 game.
Guingamp 0-1 Concarneau.
Terrible game but a great atmosphere.

European Football is just brilliant.

I’d swap atmosphere and passion for quality all day. Regularly watch lower league German, and done a few Serie B and it’s incredible.

English football is sadly far too sanitised in large nowadays (some is good some is bad).

Managed to get a ticket in the away end for the West Brom v Aldershot FA Cup tie on Sunday. Shots taking 5700 and have the whole of the away end. Up the Shots! @Littlesue (and the play in the Red'n'Blue)
Enjoy, not decided if I'm going yet, it will basically be our Youth team as we have so many injuries and no chance of winning the Cup, you might do a 'Woking" on us lol

Just found out today that my metro area has a non professional league with around 12 teams from the surrounding towns. My towns club plays about a 3 blocks from my house. Looking forward to going to some matches.

I grew up playing the rugby in the snow as you describe. I now live in southern california. We have the opposite problem. My kids will have their games cancelled if the fields get wet an hour before kickoff so as to preserve the grass (which is not very good to begin with).
