Non League Football

It's a really big step up. I bet Oxford didn't bring many?

About 20 or so.

I didn't ask their dynamic, obviously a lot of Marine fans are blues and reds too, but given that Oxford Utd played their championship opener, it could have had ramifications.

Can't say I'm thrilled about going there in the middle of winter.

It's in the middle of nowhere. A fair way out of the town centre. They don't get many.

0-2 home defeat despite a proper homer joke of a ref. I think it was 5 yellows (4 for Nantwich) and one red (Hednesford, feck knows what for). A good few first half chances went begging for Nantwich but the best team won. Second half was gash.
Apparently Hednesford have stepped up in recruitment, a lid called Jack Bearne (ex rs) signed from Greenock Morton opened the scoring. They signed last season's top scorer from Leek town, who came on as sub and the Hednesford fans are saying they're actually rotating their squad and spending 20k week on wages.

Got absolutely drenched tonight in torrential conditions at the Halton derby over the stinky side of the bridge.

Finished Runcorn Linnets 2-2 Widnes, a great performance from Widnes who were unlucky to be pegged back by an equaliser in the last 10 mins. Played well enough to win the game at one of the toughest away grounds in the league.

Sounds like a boss evening that mate.

Isthmian Div 1 South Central Kingstonian won 2-0 at Ascot last night to continue their winning start to the season. This was their first away win since April 2023 when they won at Corinthian Casuals. Up the K’s!

@Lobworm I’m on this video haha, just to the right of the keeper’s left hand post you can see me jumping up and down if you zoom in and squint.

Superb.

I didn't realise but last night was three defeats on the run for Nantwich in competitive games. Just wondering if non league fans are as fickle with sackings etc as fans of PL/pro clubs?

Surprised at Nantwich’s poor start, but it’s still very early.

As for this, they certainly can be at times, but it’s generally more about whether your owner is a fruit loop or not.

I have no clue about the owner mate, don't know anything about him/her, probably time to do some googling when I can be arsed.

Early days but the Hednesford fans I was sat next to last night reckoned the Nantwich squad looked quite threadbare.
