Non League Football

@Lobworm good win for Nantwich today.

Widnes beat Stafford away 4-0 to go within a point of top spot 🙌 ⚪⚫
Nantwich were a goal up inside 2 mins or so. Should have been 2 up inside 5 mins. I missed the second goal getting the ale in, went in 2-0 up, then tried to Everton the 2nd half and they got it back to 2 each. One of the Nantwich subs, a Portuguese lid scored a belter for the winner. Another injury yesterday though. It's at least 3 first choice lads injured now.

We’ve had players dropping like flies injured too. Had to bring 2 lads on yesterday who only signed on Friday and haven’t even trained with the team. Loads of midweek games at this point in the season due to cup reschedules and stuff. Makes me laugh when Premier League managers moan about fixture congestion to be honest, they don’t know they’re born. Wouldn’t last 5 minutes down here in the true trenches.

Team have definitely settled well into the NWCL now and after a shaky start to the season and have moved up to 9th in the table.

Floodlights now been put up and first home game under the lights is Tuesday night v Colne, then another home fixture v Maine Road next Saturday.

Been away for a couple of weeks in the States, so haven't had a chance (or wish!) To comment on recent Non League activity.

A very pleasant day at the office for the Mariners.

Marine 1-0 Radcliffe.

1500 in attendance to see Kristi Montgomerys volley be the winning goal, in a HUGE result for Marine who keep touch with safety as both Rushall & Needham Market win, brings them two points closer to

Southport, who drew 0-0 with Brackley.

A decent result, but the run without a win extends to 4.

Marine and Southport both have a week off due to FA CUP Progress of their opposition.

Other results

Bootle 1-2 Stafford Rangers - consolation penalty not enough for Bootle who slip to 5th following their defeat infront of a disappoint 323.

Widnes 1-1 Avro

FA Trophy took part this weekend where Prescot, Widnes, City of Liverpool took part.

City of 0-3 Macclesfield - barely a contest in Widnes

Ossett United 2-0 Prescot Cables

Disappointing result against a side in the division below as Cables crash out.

One of my teams (pre move) Beckenham lost 4-2 to Burgess hill today. It was a good game with plenty of end to end action.
Strangely Becks have seen their entire management team walk out and move to Phoenix sports who are bottom of the league.
Money the motive apparently.
