Non League Football

What happened there Mike? Was there some mither afterwards? I see Widnes have issued a statement.

I wasn’t at the game but I’ve been reading up on it on Twitter. Some little gimp called River who supports Stalybridge and is a known trouble causer at games was goading a section of Widnes fans all game and looking for a reaction. Looks like he had whatever he got coming to him to be honest. Fans of all different clubs in the replies on his Twitter slating him, seems he goes around the grounds looking for scraps.

Christ, I don't think the old skool ICF lids will be recruting him, like.

I follow a number of non league teams and watch them in between Palace games. One of them, a great old South west London club from the Amateur days, Kingstonian,has fallen on hard times, ground sharing at different clubs for a number of seasons and relegated to Step 4 last season. However, if it’s entertainment you want, here are their results since 21 September;

Looks like the lead singer of Hansen.

He`s hardly a threat to the Italian Ultras.

The “fight” has made it to the echo , and the Stalybridge manager has been sacked, don’t think it’s related though :lol:

Hangs round with some kid called "Divdogz", who's also a wrongun.

Whatever happened to kids just watching footie and enjoying it? Provoking opposition fans does what exactly?

Sadly, the rather annoying aspect of Non-League football.

Kingstonian manager and Assistant resigned today. Couldn’t make it up.

FA Cup now at Q4 stage, and remarkably three of my five local level 7 to 9 teams are still in it. All three face big challenges to progress to the first round proper, against teams at least one level above them.

Lowestoft (level 7) : A very hard game at home against National League South side, Weston-super-Mare (level 6), a team who are absolutely flying at the moment. But Lowestoft have who I believe is the tournament’s leading scorer in fine form (Harvey Sayer), who has scored seven goals so far in qualifying, including two hat-tricks. I’ll be at Crown Meadow today cheering on the Trawler Boys. They last made the first round in 2009.

Gorleston (level 8) : One of only three level 8 teams still in the competition, Gorleston face a hard away trip down to London to face Horsham (level 7). They last made the first round way back in 1957.

Leiston (level 7) : A few miles down the road and possibly facing the toughest test of the three, against a team two levels above them, Leiston play at home to ex-League 1, and current National League side, Dagenham & Redbridge (level 5). They last made the first round in 2008.
