Non League Football

Nantwich better team first half, went in 1-0 up at half time thanks to a brilliant individual goal from the left back. Into the 2nd half, a goal from nothing, which the NT keeper probably should have saved, brought Hyde back to 1-1. A well worked move then gave Hyde the lead, and shortly after, a direct free kick made it 3-1. I thought the goalie gave the kicker a lot to aim at. A 4th on the break put the game well and truly to bed.

The Hyde subs probably swung the game in their favour. They really took control of the game from the 50th-80th minute. Nantwich had a few lads starting who don't normally start, including the goalie, and a few lads who aren't normally in the squad. I felt the ref was quite weak tonight, lost control of the game a little in the last 10 as well, giving daft decisions that no one could really understand. Good game though, and the best team won.

I went to Eastbourne borough last night. Highlights included Welling getting smashed 4-1 (sigh), two drummers (one I find intolerable) and the darkest walk to a station I've ever experienced.
Eastbourne looked a good side, Welling in trouble I fear.
Over 1100 there but what was most annoying is I found out I could have got in for a fiver if I'd booked online 🙄.

They have stumbled across a few kids who are, I think, destined for better things.
That said, the players have been putting in strong performances in every position. It's rare you can say 'he played bad' etc

Same with us this season. And we seem to have learned how to grind games out and win ugly, even when playing poorly we seem to be able to scrap it out and get over the line. Massive when it comes to the fine margins at the top of the table.

3-team mini league starting to open up, with Chasetown potentially joining in the party if they navigate their games in hand successfully. Could do with them starting to drop off.

Hednesford have a lot of games in hand, with their wage bill, they'll be in the mix I reckon.
