Non League Football

Quite the jump in quality between NPL and the Vanarama isn’t it. Looking at the table though you’re not marooned just yet, only takes one set of results to go right to be back in the fight.

Not that big.

The side that won promotion would stay up.

Scattergun approach, low deals and really poor signings. They'll finish bottom unless they change something, and quickly.

Some pretty big ish former Football League clubs in there though. If anything it highlights more how you’ve got to get the recruitments spot on when you make that jump up. It feels different to going from the NPL West to the NPL Premier for me.

More full time players in this league too, or so I'm led to believe.

That's the only thing with non-league. The lack of coverage and insight. I've 'seen' players come and go before I've even been able to put their name to their face.

The player turnover at Marine has been massive in the 2 and a bit seasons I've been going. Swear down we've had about 15 strikers in that time. No idea if that's the norm at this level, nor any idea why any of them left, other than one of them got a deal at Tranmere, so was obviously never staying in a million years.

My team reached the last 16 of the Welsh cup yesterday overcoming our near neighbours in a local derby match. 0-0 at the end but we came out on top on penalties. We’re now 1 of only 2 tier three teams left in the competition…. Hoping for a nice home draw again next round. This is the furthest we’ve progressed in this cup for many a year.
