Northern Ireland majority catholic?

Are we in the south capable of making the Unionist people, we share an island with feel welcome? Have we learned to live in peace and harmony yet?
Well the unionists never made me feel welcome whenever I travelled up North hearing my Southern accent. Whenever iv met someone from the North down South I have never judged just talked to them like normal people. So unless they kick off antagonising like they did with that march in Dublin before they might be alright.

Irish people are, in general, romantically inclined to a united Ireland. But most won't want to pay for it. And somebody will have to. Sinn Fein's problems will be convincing them that they won't have to. They are experts at magic money tree economics, so who knows, maybe they will. But barring some agreement that ensures a continuation of UK funding for a number of years afterwards - and an EU willing to bankroll the whole endeavour - I think this is the real obstacle to unification.

Bro I'm not even a Catholic so that line doesn't work on me.
I heard your father is a methodist and your mother is a spiritualist and that your a metholated spirit

Not calling you a liar but all polls suggest the opposite but amazingly you've found the one Catholic school in the country where 93% are against reunification. Really?

Shame on you. The pain of our ancestors should mean something more than whether you get an upgrade on your lunch money.

Er send Rangers fans back to 1970s South Africa if we're wanting to really find somewhere for them to mingle and dance.

It's genetics my friend. The catholics are brighter and more likeable. Face facts. Plus oh I don't know - how about a history of unjust persecution to be corrected? Did you hear of the chain of successful orange order theme pubs around the world? No. Because there's no culture let alone a workable historically accurate romantic story to tell. For that reason alone, this episode will play out in the global theatre and the US will give it everything to be right. Plus the EU.

Well done! The 0.001% southern Irish Rangers supporter who loves David Trimble has picked another Southern Unionist. Seems you can find two needles in the same haystack if you're really lucky!
Irish Language schools are non-denominational, they aren't catholic schools.

I also said it was a very small sample. We were quite shocked at what happened at that session as i would have made the same assumption as you that the majority would be in favour of a united Ireland.

I can't see an All Ireland anytime in the near future due to economic, political and policing reasons. However, I can invisage Northern Ireland becoming free of Britain and becoming an independent state and rejoining the E.U for financial support which may keep peace on the island which is of the upmost importance. It won't be favourable to the unionists but if push comes to shove it might be where both sides of the devide can come to an agreement.
I very much doubt that the EU would accept the north as an independent country with no connection to either Ireland or Great Britain.

Of course they are not officially designated Catholic but it's equally a fair chance not many of the Orange Order gangs would ever send their kids to one.

An Irish language school is heavily nationalist oriented so the idea 93% of a group of kids there are against reunification is for the birds!

Yes thats not likely that orange order members would send their children to an Irish language school. But it's very probable that non-religious family's would send their children to non-denominational education.

Who said 93% of the kids were against a united Ireland? Again i will repeat myself, a small sample of 15 students in a school. That school had maybe around 800/900 pupils.

You are making the assumption that many make based on a guess, the same as i would have done, but then i quickly realised, through that experience, that attending an Irish language school doesn't translate to wanting a united Ireland for all pupils.

Whatever your agenda mate is up to you. The Irish language has been weaponised by the Unionist community in recent decades. I'm just saying the idea a sample of such a school is so heavily against nationalism is incredible

I have no agenda. Simply sharing an experience. I am pro a united Ireland.

Yes it is incredible and thats why it shocked us, thats the entire reason i shared. It wasn't that they didn't like the idea of a united Ireland. They didn't want to comprise any benefits they have now such as access to the NHS. That's were the border poll will be won, showing the viability for a better life for all on the island, it won't be won on romanticism alone.

Regarding the weaponisation of the Irish language i completely agree. Thats why i said it was a misstep for Unionism.

Eh? The political end game is defined in the Good Friday Agreement. Nationalists had to endure the RUC for decades so a new police force will be acceptable to all.

Economics? Ireland is a lot better placed than Truss' Britain..
