Baines looked tired from Midweek and had a quiet game, Osman was his usual utter **** - Biggest mistake goes to Roberto for bringing that clown Naismith on right after we scored who then ducked out of a challenge which led to there goal. If we can't beat a side like Norwich its worrying. We had months to prepare for this we didn't look we had a solid plan A and if his plan B involves Naismith then that's even worse. Roberto did not impress today.

Ha Ha. Take a look at all the substantial facts from that game yesterday, then appreciate we were playing away to a team we haven't done particularly well against recently and that this was our first competitive game with a new manager and system.

It was an admirable first outing for Martinez's Everton.

The thing is, that was a typical game and result against Norwich in recent times. Since their promotion in 2011 we've not beaten them once; in fact, we've been downright dismal. We threw away three goals in the final 5 minutes of both games which in total cost us 5pts, which is a huge amount to throw away against one team. The year before that they got two more spawny results when we drew 1-1 at home and (again) 2-2 away, Jelavic scoring two at the height of his boss slotting powers (ah, the memories). So we can't make any quick and easy comparisons between Moyes and Martinez given how typical this game was of our recent form against Norwich. That being said, from the performance I think we can take good encouragement in that we were dominant throughout and barely came under threat all game.

What are u whining for? FFs moyes couldn't even draw with them last year! I have nothing but excitement after that performance

....I think we are better than them but my concern was in the last third of the pitch. Plenty of possession and efforts on goals but I'd just like to see us playing a bit higher up the pitch. There wasn't many occasions we got behind their full backs and I worry that creating chances and scoring goals could be problematic. I also wonder if our style might be more suited to playing away than at home. Saying all that, encouraging signs yesterday.

Norwich knew they were lucky to get a point yesterday, think that speaks volumes.

Last year we had too many draws in games we dominated and it cost us.

We should have won this one - hope it doesn't cost us this year.

Another Luddite....why does there always have to be a whipping boy? Naismith did nothing wrong and has been solid pre-season. Utd lost at Norwich last year and won the title by a canter.....did SAF worry? Going by your rhetoric there should be a dozen teams that finish on zero points this year, because the lesser teams simply shouldn't be able to get results and everyone else should beat them.
One game in and our seasons over. Martinez and Naismith out.

As long as we go and beat West Brom at home now then yesterday's result can be seen as a positive.

Yep. 3 points is essential against them.

We've been given a great opportunity to ease ourselves into the new regime without dropping a load of points. 4 very, very winnable games and also Stevenage to help bed in our new fringe players.

This is a good question. getting control of the game, keeping possession and generally taking the sting out of a game is perfect tactics away from home; at home the expectancy is for more urgency and penetrating play.

The cultural shift is going to be important for us to bridge at home. I do think though that that message has been underlined so much that there'll be a bit of breathing space for the manager and his team to affect that change...although I wouldn't underestimate for a second the scale of the problem left to surmount.
