Not A Transfer Rumour..... Wayne Rooney

Can anyone really see utd selling him to Chelsea???

Utd won the league last year by buying a rivals top striker. I honestly think utd would rather have him sat in the reserves for a year than strengthen a rival like Chelsea who IMO will probably win the league this year anyway!

Very dangerous situation for Rooney this. WC year, at an age where he needs to be playing, not wasting a year sat on the bench or in reserves. Maybe waiting in the wings for a last minute loan deal would be worth a punt.

I wouldn't think it would happen last season under Ferguson, but this season under Moyes, I believe it's a matter of time.

That's not an attempt to bash Moyes, it's just a gulf in respect the two have earned in their managerial careers to date.

200k a week to be sat on the bench. Absolutely they would sell him if they could get the right deal.

Loan deal to us? No thanks. Hes acting like a prick again.

heres a call, what about if we sell fellaini to utd but part of the deal was Rooney loaned to us for a year? i might actually be tempted by that.

If utd sell in sure it will be on there terms, to what benifits them, like they've done with all big names leaving their club!

In this instance, Rooney is not the prick.I wasn't pleased, like many(most?) Evertonians with Rooneys attitude towards Everton over the transfer to United, and subsequently, but tempered my displeasure with the thought that Stretford was playing him like a glove puppet, and Rooney was young and impressionable. This time round, however I feel that the 'pricks' are SAF and our former manager. It is reasonable to assume that SAF and DM discussed Rooney at some time since last Christmas, and DMs recent words about back up for RVP were not off the cuff, but calculated, and probably calculated by SAF. Moyes will be quite prepared to give Rooney very minimal playing time and this was always going to be the case. So much for 'I've had four long chats with Wayne and he's in good shape,etc...'more unreliable bollocks from the mouth of DM. Rooney was never going to have a future at Man U under Moyes and I have some sympathy with Rooney in this situation, from a footballing point of view and expect that he does feel angry and confused. As for Moyes, he probably feels quite triumphant, depending on how bloody minded he really is.
All this also points ,at a stretch, to Moyes and SAF having more converstions than the summons to SAFs pad to give DM the job. The whole Moyes to United situation stinks to high heaven. What happened to asking a club if you could speak to their manager, etc? Rooney has been had off by SAF and Moyes, big style, and whatever has gone on ten years ago re the transfer, and up to last season, Rooney does not deserve the treatment he is getting.
OK, he has earned a lot of money for himself and other people, but I still feel that the lad basically just wants to play football.

Oh I agree Moyes has been a prick too, his comments about being back up for RVP were extremely petty and showed a lack of man management skills.

They are both as bad as each other really. Rooneys best plan would be to prove Moyes wrong by making himself undroppable. He has the ability to do so.

That comment was a deliberate ploy to antagonise Rooney imo. The 'game' is to make him hand in a transfer request, thus saving them £m's in loyalty payments. The footballing decision to move Rooney on, was made at the back end of last season by SAF, when he went public over their supposed spat & told the United faithful that he'd asked to leave again (which Rooney denied). Moyes is merely continuing with the delivery of that decision. Rooney will not be a United player on the 1st Sept.
