Not A Transfer Rumour..... Wayne Rooney

Forgetting the wages for a minute, the transfer fee would be the problem, but I'm not going to try to guess it.

I remember when Beckham went to Real Madrid for about 37 million, wasn't it, it was claimed that they got their money back in
a few weeks with shirt sales alone. I don't know how much truth there is in that, but it's easy to believe when you crunch the numbers.
I wonder if there's anyone savvy enough at Everton to think through a deal where we could bring Rooney back and actually
make money out of it.
We will get the same money from our shirt sales whether we sell 10 or 10 million shirts, thanks to our wonderfully clever board of directors.

Swapping Felliani for wayne rooney would raise the profile of the club no end. Apparently we were on television 16 times last season, I guess the purchase of Rooney would get us nearer the 20 mark. Also when the renegotiating of our new shirt sponsor would be worth considerably more, if Rooney was at the club. As someone said earlier, having Rooney would attract more investors. Anyway there is not a chance it will happen so onto the next rumour...........

........or is there???

It's said that in general footballers aren't the most intelligent lot, but intelligent can cover a multitude of sins

Some one can be uneducated but still be intellegent

Some people aren't academic...but they aren't daft either

How much old fashioned common sense ( or nous as the ancient greeks called it ) lurks under those hair implants, which only means he's bit vain btw.

He won't be the first to see at 27 the decisions he made at 18 were maybe not the best
Nor will he be the first to say now I've got xxmill just how much more do I really really need.

Just right now we and he have a small window to do this...It will pay for it's self and make money besides.

This thread will self destruct on the 31st Aug... for all we know wazzer is, even as we speak doing some hard thinking.

one thing makes the whole concept a none starter and thats the inability of the boys pen bill and his board of planks to run a whelk stall.

The whole thing with Rooney is a unique situation. We honestly don't know his thoughts on his situation. One thing for sure is we could never sign a player of his profile normally so it's a MUST we should at least be asking the questions. A deal for him would actually pay for itself in regards to the transfer fee paid.

If Rooney wants it and insists on it, combined with us selling fellaini it WILL happen. I'd be very supprised if he doesn't want it tbh. This is a very good efc team, one which he could come into and be the superstar hero with every chance of winning silver wear. Albeit earning less money. I'm pretty sure it would mean more to him coming here and winning the FA cup next season than winning the title again with utd....he hardly seemed to enjoy this yrs! Or what go and win a league in Paris or Germany etc...Can't see it.

Anyone who doesn't want him back is deluded. And I'd say 100% you would change once his banging in goals and taking our team to another level.

He would lift us to the next level single handedly.

If he wants it, it can happend.

His form has been dropping slowly in last two years...PSG is only top team where he could get 100% 90m and I cant see him going to France...or italy, or germany for that matter..

Come home Roo

the betting says we are eighth most likely team. 40 to 1. I would take a quid on that if I was a professional cos every other team supposed to be in running for him have massive negatives against them. Chelsea and arse hot favourites but imagine if Moyes sold to any team likely to pip him to the title. job over I reckon. unless this is taken out of his control it wont happen. PSG, Real or Bayern and he would be just selling t shirts, guaranteed less games than at United. Stretford would be fine with that but it is a quick buck and would damage him three years down the line. Monaco would be Stretford's dream but would lead to a player rebellion (maybe). so next one along is us. so many reasons it wont happen. maybe he will just retire

I want Rooney to single handily win us a derby.

I can't believe he doesn't dream for that too!

probably does, but his right to decide what he can do with his career was probably signed away at an early age when his family were bribed to convince him to sign with Stretford (allegedly)

I want this thread to die. Rooney IS NOT COMING HERE. Stop dreaming about players who believe they are too big for us, he will come back when clubs stop paying him the big dollar.

He is now 26, he will come back when he about 31 and most of our fans will lap it up which will be a sad day for us. If he doesn't want to play for us in his peak, why should he play for us when he past his best.

I'd take a 31 year old Rooney over Anichebe, understand your sentiment though.
