We have a man, who is paid a great deal of money, who's job is to do exactly that. If he fails to do so in the next hour or so then Mr Walsh should be held accountable. Six months (minimum) and tens of millions to spend, if he can't adequately replace a departing first team player under these conditions then what is the point of him?

Fully agree, most other teams manage to sign the players they want over a 12 month period. RK said we needed a striker 12 months ago, still hasn't happened. Sandro wasn't bought as Lukaku's replacement. I don't know who is accountable but someone is. There are many many players that were not 'available' for other teams, but then they actually bid and persuaded them into signing. Saying no one was available is a massive kop out.

Why should people on a forum have to name who was available, that's not our job. It means nothing, it's an excuse.
At the beginning of the window not many would have named Sandro, Klaasen, Henry, even the fella tonight but they appeared and were signed. So it makes no difference who we name.

We've got rid of our one goal threat and not replaced him. Bought 3 players to play behind the striker, all with no pace and we have absolutely no width in the team so we've ended up sticking our 45m man out of position on the wing. Everton.

Well they had enough time to identify and sign a replacement for Lukaku.The failure to do so means that questions have to be asked.It was an encouraging start to the summer with those signings we made.But yet another August deadline day fiasco has confirmed that the old way of doing things incompetently and on the cheap at Everton has not gone away.
