No. I'm not talking about a David Bowie best of compilation, I'm talking about Everton.
So we entered the pre season shrouded in mystery, who will be our new manager, will we spend loads, will we get a new stadium, will Cleverley leave, so many questions.
So far we've had one question answered, we got a new manager and to be fair it is a thoroughly underwhelming appointment for a club that supposedly has renewed ambitions. This is a man who thrives in ordinariness, a so-so man from a so-so nation, Mr. Average, Mr. Grey, if he was a colour he'd be magnolia, he's neither here nor there, he won't set the world alight, nor will he do any worse. If we wanted to send a message to the footballing world that we are back we needed to do better than Ronald "Flavour of the month" Koeman.
Instead we have done what we do best, go with what we can get, not push for what we supposedly can't get. A bad start for things to come.
So on to our transfers, so far we have made one, an undisclosed fee for a keeper who is that bad Fulham who have just finished above relegation in the League 1 find him surplus to requirements. Great.
We've been linked with two other signings, Witsel and Mata, so going off everything that has preceded this what is the honest likelihood we will sign them? We have no European football to lure them, we have a bog standard manager, maybe they want to join Gianluigi Stekelenbuffon? Ridiculous.
Apparently we have had negotiations with Witsel but true to form they've stalled. Everton that.
So on to the actual elephant in the room. Are we rich? So far I'm going with no, all we've done is catch the likes of Stoke, West Ham and Palace up in terms of money we can offer players.
Same old Everton? Yep.
Don't be so negative youThat's a pretty decent start 4 months into a new reign.
- We have a new major shareholder currently owns 49.9% and options to acquire 76%
- We have a highly experienced new director who is transforming the way we "do" business, and attracting new commercial talent to the boardroom.
- We fired an underperforming manager and backroom staff replacing with one of the leading managerial talents in the game
- We are in serious negotiations for a waterside site for a new stadium
- We are negotiating and bidding for players priced at, and who earn sums unimaginable 6 months ago
- Our Chairman and "the old guard" have a much reduced role in the running of the club
- Finch Farm is being developed and Goodison is receiving a "makeover"
Good points Esk thumbs up !That's a pretty decent start 4 months into a new reign.

- We have a new major shareholder currently owns 49.9% and options to acquire 76% is this defo? And Usmanov?
- We have a highly experienced new director who is transforming the way we "do" business, and attracting new commercial talent to the boardroom. I've seen some natural changes as you would expect but this happens at lots of clubs and they don't win stuff.
- We fired an underperforming manager and backroom staff replacing with one of the leading managerial talents in the game leading managerial talent? I really hope so.
- We are in serious negotiations for a waterside site for a new stadium this would be ace but hasn't happened yet. Soz abar orange.
- We are negotiating and bidding for players priced at, and who earn sums unimaginable 6 months ago will be interesting to see who we sign before the window is up and if they win stuff or suck the life out of the club.
- Our Chairman and "the old guard" have a much reduced role in the running of the club nice
- Finch Farm is being developed and Goodison is receiving a "makeover" the council are paying for this and we are just tennants. But with higher rent. Why would we not buy it if were minted now?
Thank you, please though use the report function next time, rather than tagging - tagging will alert that particular staff member, where a report will alert us all.
7 feel good points. I like.
Just out of devil's advocate I've put my comments in red.
Cheers Groucho.Thank you, please though use the report function next time, rather than tagging - tagging will alert that particular staff member, where a report will alert us all.

I actually did both with the second as a "bump" for the thread as a whole xx
We went for Riquelme once. Same difference bra.Nothing has hanged ? We have a new manager going for the likes of Juan Mata/ Axel Witzel . If bobby was still here we'd be going for Michael Carrick ffs
We went for Riquelme once. Same difference bra.
