Im still annoyed about the striker situation.But we spent 30 million on a keeper and 24 million on Klaassen from Ajax.Before we couldn't afford those sort of fees.Thing's have changed.Not as much as we would have liked, but they have changed nonetheless.Hopefully we'll get by until January and then sign a proper replacement for Lukaku.

Before Moshiri took over our transfer records where 28m for Lukaku and 28m received for fellaini.

On the two summer's that followed the incoming one first year stayed as lukaku so 28m, the selling one went to 48m though.

This year we broke our record with 45m for sigurdsson, the selling one went to 90m though

So 2015 record buy record sale where the same

2016, a gap opened of 20m between buying and selling records

2017 a that gap more than doubled again to 45m between buying and selling records.

As a trend that's worrying.

at the end of the day we had money come in and spent it, usually were still left asking wheres the Arteta money. its a long term plan and won't happen overnight. we are stronger as a team this year than last. it will take another summer transfer window to push into the top 4. don't forget FFP and what we can and can't spend. Moshiri is doing the deals to up our income and that will help in the long run

January will be a lot harder to sign a decent striker, I think we may get a stop gap loan in January.

Yeah we couldn't afford those fees.

It helps when another club give us 90 million after we have spent that amount though to be fair

Leaving the stadium issue aside, it's an improvement on Kenwright. There are positives, such as our early transfer business this summer, increased wage bill etc, but they usually seem to be closely followed by enormous negatives (lack of a striker) that suggest no one up top has the first clue how to build a team.

Perhaps they need to knock the "statement" signing obsession on the head, first of all.
