Reported.
Warned you all.
You are forgiven. Can't speak for everyone but I offer my apologies for doubting you Saps old friend
Well we spent more than we made this window and we replaced Ross irrespective of actually selling him.
So that's a change, we didn't wait to sell Ross before we replaced him, previous years we would have sorted that for deadline day.
So we spent money, still a sell to buy club to some extent but actually spending more than sales is a good change for once. No point in being negative about it
Having re read this, I think we can now all say that you were wrong mate.
We've got much much worse and with hindsight, you were actually being highly optimistic
Go on...Nail on the head.
Things have improved, but only slightly.
Go on...
....but we're still shît where it really matters. We need to bin this fat headed ginger fraud before another season is over by Christmas. We're no longer paying interest on the debt, our transfer spending (net or otherwise) is higher than usual and we've got a new *61,878* dockside stadium on the way.
I think it's time to do the right thing and grovel to Sapie for forgiveness, also it was due to this that our beloved fallen icon Eric got his perma.
I'm noticing a pattern with the likes of Sap and Davek being abused and ostracised for amazing foresight. They stand above us all.
Some folk have way too much time on their hands to create nonsense like this. But I guess it gives you some weird internet kick.
I disagree that nothing has changed.
The calibre of player we are now in for has been elevated, and we appear to have a manager with an actual clue.
No overnight fixes mate, but we need to be patient.
That's a pretty decent start 4 months into a new reign.
- We have a new major shareholder currently owns 49.9% and options to acquire 76%
- We have a highly experienced new director who is transforming the way we "do" business, and attracting new commercial talent to the boardroom.
- We fired an underperforming manager and backroom staff replacing with one of the leading managerial talents in the game
- We are in serious negotiations for a waterside site for a new stadium
- We are negotiating and bidding for players priced at, and who earn sums unimaginable 6 months ago
- Our Chairman and "the old guard" have a much reduced role in the running of the club
- Finch Farm is being developed and Goodison is receiving a "makeover"
With respect though, that's where the comparison stops. Perhaps the biggest change is the change in ambition of the new owner relative to the ambition of the previous owners. The days of survival in the Premiership, no investment, back street lending and bargain basement spending have gone, gone forever.

The OP looks more and more accurate by the day. I said we were starting to look like Newcastle early on in the thread, I couldn't be more right.

Timing and context mate. That was written a while ago at a time when it seemed unnecessarily negative. The mods view on this thread:
