Nothing has changed yet we have just signed the Ajax captain. We have just signed one of the most talented goal keepers in the england for £30m. And we have just beaten of the likes of Juventus for Sandro!!. Who gives a crap about net spend after 2 windows.
A relagated goalie.
The Dutch league is gash.
And as if Sandro chose us over Juve.

Do keep up mate.

Im not missing the point mate, you are.

Generally speaking spending big brings you success. Recycling cash generally doesn't.

That's about the top and bottom of it. History tells us that.
How much is a satisfactory net spend though? In the first season with Moshiri we spent about £20m more than we brought in (total of summer and winter transfer windows). So if that is not enough then how much is? £50m? £100m?

At least £50m this season. Last season was our worst net spend for 4 seasons.

I don't see why it matters that Pickford played for a relegated side and while the Dutch League isn't very good, some very good players have come from it e.g. Ronaldo, Suarez etc.

Think he was being ironic. Read the thread in full and what he quoted is what some unhappy people are saying.

You have no idea what our net spend will be or if we're recycling cash just now.

The sun is shining, the toffees are throwing money around in 2017 like it's going out of fashion. Let your guard down and be happy for once Dave.

Worry about net spend at the end of the window you miserable thing.

Tell me who we could buy for between 20m and a 100m that will a) sign for us b) we don't have to pay twice what you would deem acceptable (like i'm sure we could buy Mata/Sig for 60M and 40M but is that really worth it?) c) we are not already linked with and d) make that much of a difference to us now?

It is spending money just to say you have spent money. You can spend 80M/100M net and the players will not be the standard to guarantee we will be higher than we are now. Cash is not an infinite resource, spend it all now and don't succeed and we will be stuck, or we get CL but then aren't in a position to spend heavily on the better class of player who would then be willing to come here.

Lets see who else we get in over the summer then see whats what. You are complaining before even knowing the true situation.

Wasn't our net spend last season around £20 - 25 million. Which over 5 years, would put us at between £100m - 125m Net.

In your figures, you included Liverpool, who'd done around that amount, so seems like we're on course.

Actually just checked this. 2016/17 Net Spend was reported as £23m, in a year when we sold one player for £50m.

Previous 5 season average for Everton was £13.5
