Their entire lineup looks like that though, courtesy of Aston Martin, as I said. lol

It's still distinctive from most/all of them, however.

The exterior difference between the 90s escort and 90s mustang was the 4 doors, which made the pony lose its cool factor*.

*again, for me - I also like and daily a Jeep and like Dodges and Chryslers, so my opinion is worth next to nothing in reality.

There's something going on in auto design that I can't put my finger on (down to ignorance on design theory and vocabulary, mostly), but you see Lexus and Toyota doing the same, all of their models have the same basic lines. Lexus looks like a dying fish and Toyota looks like it was built with legos.
I personally like some of that 'flattening' that's going on, in some cases at least - new Mazdas look nice, but they have the curves around the wheel arches, so it's better.

BMW have been going flat but wider grille, as are Lexus for some reason, which is just bizarre.

Maybe we're the weirder people for disliking the trend though - a lot of people find it cool and good looking, yet here we are, talking about cars from the 70's (in my case - a continent over as well lol ).

Many Lexi are Toyota under the skin so hard points that dictate proportions are the same.

The Japanese (mostly) seem to have an ‘origami’ theme going on. Lots of folds and creases.

Agreed about Mazda. I daily a CX5 which is the only SUV (sorry, but I need one) that doesn’t make me heave. The 6 is probably still the best looking current car on the road despite being 8 years old now.

BMW are chasing the Chinese market who have a somewhat challenging idea of what a good looking car looks like.

Both the CX5 and the 6 are great cars. Second facelift really made the 6 stand out in subtle ways, which I liked. The interior changed slightly also, and the top line 6 with the 2.2L biturbo diesel has serious PULL and is insanely fun to drive, recently had to for work.

Shame Mazda wants to become Japanese BMW though...

Why do you dislike SUV's?

They are amorphous blobs that are very difficult to tell apart. I finally had to get one to ferry old folks around. Replacement hips and Mustangs are not a good fit?

That said, I’m on the lookout for a 67-72 Chevy C10 shortbed pickup to do the same job.

Isn't that a 2door?

Also my Cherokee is from 2003 and definitely easy to tell apart - basically a brick with wheels.

Yeah, I’ve only got my Mum left.

And Jeeps are Jeeps not SUV’s
Sorry mate, didn't want to be rude or anything!

Jeeps are Jeeps if they're Wranglers or Trail Rated. Anything else is a bit 'meh'. I have amazing taste for cars and decided to buy a 2003 diesel Cherokee (Liberty in the USA) - the child of a WJ and Wrangler, which inherited both's problems. And it's a diesel, to have its own brand new problems! lol

Mine has decent offroad capability and a true RWD/4x4 system, as it should be, but can also do well on the highway. In theory at least.

Gas mileage is also somewhat terrible, as is Jeep tradition. lol
