Don Revie upon taking the England Job was approached by a sponsorship deal for the England shirt by a firm called ADMIRAL - he then informed Leeds Unt Fc about the lucrative deal, and Leeds were the first team to have the logo on a shirt to sell to fans club badge on it etc- followed by uproar from the TV companies as it was unofficial advertising, I assume that was the beginning of what has ballooned now three kits all named by various sports firms with a great income to the clubs at every level with the poor fans getting to foot the bill for the kids etc!
