My dad always goes on about playing against Derek Temple as a kid when he played for Everton Colts they were called back then,he held the goalscoring record(Derek Temple not my old fella
lol) in the local league(may have been the Bootle JOC)there were loads of pitches on the Girobank site in Netherton/Bootle back then.

....not certain but I thought Temple played for Liverpool Schoolboys and was a prolific scorer. Playing for the schoolboys in those days was really something, took precedent over professional football clubs.
