TE started as a left back before replacing TG at Centre half. He was then replaced at Centre half by Labone and was moved back to Left back. My grandad still says TG Jones was one of the best defenders he saw for Everton.Same hear, just working off photos but that game TEJones was left back, will, see what my older brother says tomorrow as he was a wee lad who seen TEJones the centre half who Labone replaced!
The player between Brian Labone and Brian Harris is the one player my older brother is unsure of thinks it maybe Jimmy Tansey the fullback -
the one on the end bottom right is deffo Derek Temple -
My late father stated the same an incredible centre half was TGJones he dribbled the ball out of defence and joined them stack with a thunderous shot, Ted Sager was bemused by his antics in defence ahead of his time!TE started as a left back before replacing TG at Centre half. Though it's possible it could be him as he was a left back, and played a few games that season?
If the image looks like him you could be right as he was on the 1960 squad duo signing of the Golden Vision and his cousin George Thomson both signed in one transfer by then Manager John CareyI googled his name then clicked images, looks good to me. The is a site that list every starting 11 but I can't find it. that would nail it.
It's either Thomson or Colin Green, both were at the club in nov 1960, Jimmy Tansey was not listed on the staff 60-61George Thompson was in the squad that is possible, but did not play in the Newcastle game Bluelord49 mentioned?
