Injury was a cruel blowHis haircuts were ahead of the time. His missus was a hairdresser.
I struggle to think of a more underrated player than him in my time watching us.

Gary was one of my early heroes,
Looks Hot!!! No half way to half time drinks breaks back in those days!
It was Billy Bingham, not Lee, but you're right he never played again after that. Quite a few unhappy players around that time (75/6).Gary was one of my early heroes,
IIRC when he got subbed by Gordon Lee and applauded Lee, never played again after that, I may be wrong of course, I'm ancient and one of those 50 plussers who got a Bracewell Haircut @Dario Terracotta but then I also got the perm at the back job ala "Inchy" later on!
That was a massive mistake as my now bald head would testify!
To him personally and the team and our success. If he hadn't been deliberately injured we would have won the title in 1986 denying us a hat trick of titles.Injury was a cruel blow
lol lol lol You may be right Dixie although I always thought Bingham was manager, as a young kid I thought it was amusing as Gary was subbed and flicked the v's at the boss,I think you are spot on he never played again for us after that!!Gary was one of my early heroes,

It's funny, a mate who's a Villa supporter asked me last week who were my heroes when I was a kid?Hands up all you 50 somethings who went straight down to the barbers and asked for that cut? lol
My old man delivered milk to both Darracott and Jones, if I recall lived close to each other. He always spoke highly of Terry, but said Gary Jones was more than happy with the team losing if he hadn't been picked.lol lol lol You may be right Dixie although I always thought Bingham was manager, as a young kid I thought it was amusing as Gary was subbed and flicked the v's at the boss,I think you are spot on he never played again for us after that!!
