Old Everton Pictures

The 66 celebration with Harry Catterick in the forefront and behind him Fred Pickering, the sixties version of The Latch. My first game watching the blues was against Blackburn in 1963 us getting beat 4-2 with Pickering scoring three, I recall. We then did what the likes of United, Chelsea and City do today, and that is go out and buy those good players, and signed Fred for £80K. In his debut, he scored a hat trick for us this time. I was there to witness that one as well. He weighed in with a good few goals during his time with us, and was famously injured for the cup final which meant Trebilcock played in his place.

I was at the Blackburn home game when we lost 4-2. I was also there for Pickering's hat-trick in his first game, v. Nottingham Forest. Won 6-1. Pickering was awesome, but that injury a few weeks before the Cup Final - he was never the same again...

Heres my take on it but might be way of the mark. The back row is difficult but my guess is

back row left to right: ?, ?,Ross Jack, ?, ?, ?, ?, Cliff Marshall, Robinson, Ronnie Goodlass
next row: ?, is it peter scott, Mick Lyons, Dave Lawson, Drew Brand, Dia Davies, Dave Jones, John Connolly, ?, ?,
next row: Dave Smallman, Ken McNaught, Martin Dobson, Jim Pearson, Big Bob Latchford, John Hurst, Dave Clements,
Next Row: Mick Bernard, Gary Jones, George telfer, Steve Seargeant, Billy Bingham, Roger Kenyon, Terry Darracott, John McLaughlin, Mick Buckley
Front Row: Don't bloody know or not certain

My era yet struggling.

think this was number 5 against Chelsea in 78 Big Bobs 2nd. My hero absolutely loved him, still do. Had a piece of Goodison turf in our shed for ages

Great pic!and great day! Look at Dave Thomas in the background. The photographers used to virtually sit on the goal line and have to jump back if the players came off the pitch!!!
