Old Everton Pictures

No I don't even know who Harris was, wasn't either of ours that's for sure or Chopper. Gordon Harris (Burnley) apparently.

...yep, Gordon Harris. Can't say I remember him. Joe Baker CF for England and the state of our pitch, I suppose it was a prep for the World Cup later that summer. Looks like a full house, I was 9 at that time and certainly didn't go.

47,839 the official attendance - bettered by 6 Everton home games (high 62,337) - but we all know they didn't always tell the truth.

Bayern Munich? Was there what a game !

Another great from that fabulous era. I missed out on them all being younger but our Jimmy used to almost purr talking about that side...especially when he'd had a few brown bitters. Nice to see those two make it up too...no agents or lawyers or twitter rants in those days just a simple bevvy and a friendship rekindled.
Regards Brian Harris, he lived on the Wirral, in Bromborough.
My mam worked at the dry cleaners on New Chester Road, its still there now. She found a pay slip of Harris's in his suit pocket.
£60 a week he was on. 1966, my dad was bringing home £16 from 40hrs. at Levers, so 4 times the normal wage.
Does that sound about right?
