1947 - Everton 4-2 Sunderland. A good day for the Blues at Goodison, with Eddie Wainwright scoring a hat trick en route to a Blues victory. Tommy Eglington chipped in with EFCs 4th goal, delighting the EFC fans.
1954 - Derby County 2-6 Everton. A big win at the Baseball Ground as EFC's Division 2 promotion campaign continued at pace. Eddie Wainwright scored 3, whilst Dave Hickson, JW Parker & a John Lindsay penalty made up the EFC scorers.
1966 - Bedford Town 0-3 Everton. Harry Catterick's Blues avoided a banana skin in this FA Cup 4th Round tie away at non-league Bedford Town. Derek Temple scored twice & Fred Pickering once as EFC advanced.
1967 - Newcastle United 0-3 Everton. A good win for Harry Catterick’s Blues at St James’ Park. An Alan Ball penalty, plus goals from Johnny Morrissey & Jimmy Husband sealed the win for EFC.
1933 - Liverpool 7-4 Everton. The highest scoring Merseyside Derby of all time as 11 goals were shared, and 1 of only 3 occasions when EFC scored 4 or more v LFC at Anfield. Dixie Dean (2), Jimmy Stein & Tommy Johnson all scored for EFC, as EFC remained 1 point above LFC.
2001 - Everton 2-1 Leicester City. The Blues strikeforce of Kevin Campbell & Francis Jeffers were on the scoresheet as Walter Smith’s side scored a valuable win.
2006 - Chelsea 4-1 Everton. This FA Cup 4th Round Replay aired live on BBC1 & is best known as the night EFC goalkeeper Richard Wright twisted his ankle during the warm up by slipping on a ‘Not In Use’ goalmouth sign on the pitch. Iain Turner deputised in goal as EFC lost.
1931 - Charlton Athletic 0-7 Everton. The biggest ever EFC away win in a competitive game saw EFC maintain their lead at the top of Division 2 en route to winning the title/promotion. Dixie Dean scored 3 & Jimmy Stein, Jimmy Dunn, Ted Critchley & Tommy Johnson also scored.
1998 - Promising 17 year old striker Francis Jeffers signed a new 5 year contract for EFC. Jeffers had made his 1st team debut 6 weeks earlier vs Man Utd on Boxing Day 1997.
1983 - Everton 3-0 Notts County. Howard Kendall's Blues moved up to 5th with a solid win at Goodison. Adrian Heath, Kevin Sheedy & Andy King all scored for EFC.
