I lived at the bottom of Everton Brow, I used to look up at the view at the top every morning walking up to the Friary school at the top on the corner of Netherfield Road.

That was my school I lived in Garden Lane just down the road from the Prince Alfred pub.

I think you might be referring to Peter Craven who lived In Clubmoor Or West Derby.
He rode for Belle Vue Aces in Manchester and was a world champion…he was 29 when he died.

I moved up to Norris Green in 1974, live and lived three minutes from The Crown, been in it twice, didn’t believe it the first time, although I believe upstairs in there was pretty civilised!

They used upstairs for functions...moved up there myself 1975 by strawberry rd

There was a pub on the corner of Garden Lane and Everton Brow, I knew a few people from the terraces in Garden Lane who went the Friary, quite a few moved to Kirkby when they knocked a lot of houses from that area down n the 1950’s and 1960’s.

Yes that pub was the Prince Alfred known by the locals as the corner. All of my dads family drank in that pub. My grandparents and some aunts and uncles lived in a big house facing the pub on Everton Brow. We moved to Huyton in 1963 when they started knocking the street down.
