Lived on the new estate opposite the English Electric at the age of 11. Was working at Goodlass Wall at 18 in 78. Did 9 years there. Henry Cooper doing the adverts for Valspar paints.
…..just after the war, can only think of what those individuals lived through yet I get a feeling for the sense of community, values and happiness;
Metal Box, Lockheed, Bryant and May,Lucas's,.........so sad and I played football at many of their grounds too. Great times.
Didn't a plane crash on Goodlass Walls in the 60's Tommy? I was told about it years ago. I worked on the other side of the road to you.
Can’t say I heard about that. Had a good social club. Can’t believe you could go and pour 3 pints down your neck at lunchtime and go back into work
