Blue Bell Inn at the junction of Blue Bell Lane and Liverpool Road, Huyton. At this time, the pub sign advertised the sale of Burton Ales and also that it had a bowling green at the rear. Note the tram lines now in place -

Be interested to know where that was taken from , there what looks like a church in the background possibly suggesting it’s taken looking up Blue Bell lane towards the church at the top of Blue Bell Lane. But that doesn’t look right because if that’s the case the pub would be on the right.
 

I had a trail with Liverpool school boys at Penny lane, got down to the last 16 unfortunately never made it

But I remember some great payers back in the day
Saunders the kopite was doing the job when I went there,I made it to the same cut as you. I was there with Leslie Grant the brother of David Grant, Jackie Grant's son. Ronnie Goodlass was there too. I got a trial with Burnley that came to nothing (I was a lazy git,thought I was the new Denis Law)
