Walked down to that last year when we visited the Hale open gardens day which we spotted in the yellow book. Some cracking gardens to see and finished off with a ploughmans and a pint in the Child of Hale, lovely day. Actually did the Woolton gardens last week, again excellent. Hightown near Formby this Sunday Joey if you're interested.

Have you ever visited any of the Gardens when they're open on the National Gardens scheme. Mrs was on my case to do some of them but I was always dubious. Then we did some a few years back and it's one of the nicest ways to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon, love it.Often visited Hale shore & the Child of Hale a lovely pint of bitter Higsons back then
The Gardens were not there when I visited - as I have moved all over the UK to gain promotion - now retired live away from my home town - TBH the only thing I miss is the scousers humour .... Yeah that was what I originally thought but what threw me was looking down Liverpool rd from the BB towards Page Moss is down hill, where that view is up hill.…..I’d guess it’s taken from Liverpool Rd looking back towards Liverpool and Blue Bell Lane on the left. Not sure if that’s a church on the right but I’d think the one near Huyton Village at the other end of BBL would be further away.
Joey, it's the National gaeden scheme where private houses, both very modest and not so modest open up there gardens for all to see, usually 5 quid to see about 6. It happens in all parts of the country throughout summer. Garden centres etc. have copies of the book free or you can see where is open online. Raises loads of cash for good causes and you pick up some great ideas. Lovely day out.The Gardens were not there when I visited - as I have moved all over the UK to gain promotion - now retired live away from my home town - TBH the only thing I miss is the scousers humour .... Last bus Saturday night mayhem in the 70s
Went for a week, sent home with two others after 24hrs for smoking. Handed over to year tutor at the Mersey Tunnel like a cold war spy exchange. It was about three weeks before my dad would let me in the same room as him.I suppose lots of us did. I went once in primary school and twice for geography field trips from secondary school.
The primary trip was my first time away without my family. Had a great time, although the food was grim.
