At arsenal with Wenger he will always be a plan B mate, Wenger is too wedded to his system to change that, Giroud whenever heavyweight a run of games as a starter - both before arsenal, for France, and in the periods at arsenal when he starts a run of games, he has performed very well.

There's a reason he starts for France - because none if there other strikers would suit griezman half as well. And that says a lot in itself.

What's in our favour is that it's World Cup year. The same applies to Rooney.

This makes perfect sense, this year is massive for every player who harbours ambitions to play in the World Cup. Giroud will not want to sit on the bench at Arsenal and risk loosing his France shirt. We can offer the same competitions as Arsenal this year, can offer him a decent wage and we can offer him first team football. C'mon lad, were's your ambition, come join the revolution.

We should go all out to get him. He's in great condition and hasn't showed any signs of slowing down (probably aided by his lesser game time at Arsenal) so his age isn't an issue.

He's proven at PL, CL, and International level. I'd fully expect him to get 20 PL goals and maybe even another 10 in Europe and the cups if we bought Gylfi to supply him, meaning he'd be scoring even more than Lukaku has for us.

Those goals added to Sandro, Rooney, Gylfi, Klaassen, and hopefully Ross (would be surprised if they didn't all average 8-13 goals in all competitions) we'd be a very potent attacking team to add to our strong defence.

Even at £30m I'd be delighted.

Agreed with everything up to that point. A new centre back and maybe even a left back are still needed.
