If we are going to sign an older striker, rather him than Rooney now I reckon. Just cos he's not as knackered

But we've been buying youngsters, so you need a older head to lead the line .
Giroud started 11 games last season, off the bench for 18 - still managed 12 goals.
Not shabby. Averages 14.5 a season over last 5 seasons, Lukaku averages 17.
Not that big a difference, and that's just goals - when you compare what he offers other than that, I don't think I'm overrating Giroud at all. I personally think people massively underrate him.

He also scored for fun in France. Look at his career stats he's scored every team every season pretty muchIn an Arsenal team where even the defenders can attack. He does have Sanchez and Ozil feeding him too btw.
Looking at the stats he didn't start till round 18, then went on a goal a game run for 4 or 5 games and was used for 75% of the season as a 60 - 70 min sub against tired defences.
I just can't see this one at all.
Andy Gray Was a stop gap...........Don't remember anyone complaining !! That is the stage we are at ! We are getting players for the future but we also need players who are ready now !On a free fair enough and if he was the last piece in the jigsaw to win the title (Like Van Persie to Man Utd) I would also be happy.
But bit to much of a stop gap for me so would only bring in if cheap.

Only if the price is really, really right...and even then I'd have doubts. But I've been wrong before so what do I know.
There you go......Giroud led the line for France very recently.....Maybe he can complete puzzles too !......He was 28 and completed the puzzle.
He started under half of the games. There isn't really a stats argument against Giroud. Age, attitude and mobility are the main concerns. Personally I think attitude is the big one the other are not so importantFront man of one of the most attacking units in the game and can only manage 15 a season though. Should have got 20+ if he's that good IMO.
