Perhaps then confidence would grow, losing again and again is a loveky habit we are struggling to get out of

It's not impossible of course, but it's much less likely than us staying up or finishing near mid-table, and as such I'd like them to be calm and get an actual manager in that is going to sort us now and take us forward.

I hope you’re right mate, but I actually think that’s bordering on negligence now. It’s not just bad form, we’ve been poor since March and have since lost our best player. Best case scenario, we accept we’re in a battle, get a survival specialist in and comfortably survive. Think about the next 5 years then. Relegation is too big a risk and could mean toiling in the lower leagues for years.

Who are the three teams worse than us?

There's one who has been worse than us, which is Palace, and they've started to improve a bit recently as well

Our problems are well known and will exist until at least January at the very earliest

If our January spending is based on a Barkley sale, then we're probably not buying players till the end of the window as we try and squeeze as much out of a potential sale as possible, so we can basically write everything off until February. Who knows how far adrift we'll be by then?

We're up to our necks in it

The ultimate humiliation here tonight was, the missus who knows absolutely hee haw about football comes in at half time and clocks the score, she says " 0-0 at half time that's really good for Everton" she then comes back at full time and says "Back to normal then" that's how bad we are ,we can't buy a goal, we can't buy a clean sheet, all we can buy are No 10's.
