Yes, that's what I meant. A short time ago, we were thinking we were above the likes of Allardyce and Dyche, but now I would take even Pulis if it meant we were guaranteed to stay up. Desperate times and there are no guarantees of anything!
We need to be stabilised then back to the drawing board and start again, I think Unsworth had sort of tried that but unfoutunatly he just hasn't the experience. Big Sam or Pulis are probably the best at it Dyche I'm not sure but he is a similar tough British type so he probably would do ok. But it has to be Big Sam for me now, who knows what he could achieve here it would be his biggest club job, with I'm sure some money available.

Why is everyone acting so surprised that we got beaten, when the moment the team was announced it was virtually a foregone conclusion.

As Moshiri would say, it's a game we'd expect to lose.

We effectively went out of this competition with the games against Limasol and Atalanta.

Not that fussed about the loss. We have turned into the sort of team i hated, the kind that needed out of europe to focus on the league. We would have been better off losing to split tbh might be in a better position now with the squad being allowed to train on tactics for longer. Should play the kids with the reserve manager in the next two europa matches so the first team arent distracted.

I agree about Rooney. I think Rooney drops deep as he gets frustrated he hasn't got the pace he used to but you don't need pace to score, he just needs to adapt his game and drop off the defender to find space.

I would have played Sando tonight as Niasse wasn't eligible. Risky, I know but we know he can score, he's already done it in a major league, unlike DCL.
I'm sure if Big same does come in he will see Rooney as his number one goalscorer, TBH who wouldn't he's older but had got an amazing record.

I can answer that mate. Stop the hoofball, start closing down players, drive forward, and start shooting. It’s not Unsworth, he’s just in the firing line and could not say no.

Some serious conversations need to happen between the players and the manager behind the scenes. Or maybe the players are paid too much money to care? I mean care like we do. They should care like we do right? Am I being naive in thinking it’s about pride and leading by example to our club community. It has to start with the 11 in the pitch and it filters down to make us all try to be better. To be involved in something great.

Short of a miracle, Watford will absolutely batter us.

You know I try to be fair Grouch. I’m just so frustrated and sad. Not because we aren’t Man City current quality, but because we are getting smashed and embarrassed every week and no one would put their houses on Everton turning this around, and no one can explain it. We need the executioners bong back. Just for my sanity.

It’s like punishment for daring.
It’s extremely frustrating aye.

..the team was set up to get to 60mins and then have a go. Unsworth used the same tactic at Chelsea. I said to Mrs Eggs before half-time that DCL will come on at 60mins. He did and everything went pear shaped.

I think this might be a sign of things to come. Park the bus in every game, ride our luck and hope we get something.

I don’t know mate. Would have it had been as bad as what we watched tonight. Opposition have to react when they are attacked. Tonight we did nothing.

It's basically like just waiting for the inevitable defeat, its small time, pathetic and isn't acceptable.

I don't care what we supposedly have or haven't got, within that squad there is enough to be able to field a team that can

A - make 5 yard passes
B - string 10 passes together
C - create chances
D - look like scoring

We've just played Lyon, not Real Madrid ffs yet we were set up as if we were holding onto a 1-0 1st leg lead at the Bernabeau in front of 90k

Pathetic, small time, clueless, weak, timid, afraid, back foot, negative and so on and so on.

Sick of it, absolutely sick of it.

Perfectly understandable.

I’m desperately searching for positives but gotta say I’ll have to sleep on it because I’m drawing a blank. Which is more than the team can do currently.

I’m never defeated, that’s one thing Everton has taught me over the years. I’ve got some ideas on how to save us. Maybe the club have too.

:)

I hope you’re right mate, but I actually think that’s bordering on negligence now. It’s not just bad form, we’ve been poor since March and have since lost our best player. Best case scenario, we accept we’re in a battle, get a survival specialist in and comfortably survive. Think about the next 5 years then. Relegation is too big a risk and could mean toiling in the lower leagues for years.

Who are the three teams worse than us?

There's one who has been worse than us, which is Palace, and they've started to improve a bit recently as well

Our problems are well known and will exist until at least January at the very earliest

If our January spending is based on a Barkley sale, then we're probably not buying players till the end of the window as we try and squeeze as much out of a potential sale as possible, so we can basically write everything off until February. Who knows how far adrift we'll be by then?

We're up to our necks in it

We need to knock this apathy and arrogance on the head ASAP

I'm not apathetic or arrogant. I watch how people's reactions and viewpoints switch on here from game to game. A win on Sunday and it will switch again.

I'm obviously not talking about who is worse than us now. I am talking about teams like Brighton, Palace, Huddersfield and more who over a full season are likely to finish worse off than us. That they will be worse than us over 38 games is still much more likely than the opposite situation.

They already wasted a big opportunity at the start of all this Moshi's millions era by going for an average manager and I am annoyed that all this current temporary panic about relegation is going to give them carte blanche to sell us another unexciting dullard.

We have been mismanaged on the pitch but I think a decent manager would sort this squad out and start getting some performances and results quite quickly. The extreme of Allardyce or Moyes is not necessary.
