Matt Damon - still would take Lerner over Kenwright anytime. You can blame him for allowing O'Neill to spend too much (especially on wages), but he would be criticized if he wouldn't allow it - for not trusting his manager. Really lost a lot of respect for O'Neill now, for not being interested in working at Villa, when owner decided to keep things under more strict control.

If Lerner had given Moyes that much money, we'd be celebrating titles, cups, and champions league football. In case anyone's forgotten there's only one Sheik Mansour. These owners have the right to run their clubs like a business. I'm pretty sure Lerner didn't go into this thinking he was gonna spend all this money and get so little out of it. As Stinger rightly points out, Lerner would have taken flak for NOT spending money, and MON would have been bitching to the press all along and left earlier.
