Villa's wage bill was 80% of revenues, apparently. Lerner isn't an Abramovich, he can't fund losses indefinitely.

Breaking down barriers my friend! She should of known better anyway!

Oh aye, I was just putting the microwave on there mate.

Based on what we have NOW, I would also agree Bill seems the better option, but I dont ever recall singing Lerners praises, I mean hes American for 1.

And I read other things, not just wiki boys insight into things, which is so lobsided it would fall off a table.

Let me consult the vaults there.

Yes its even worse than that.

90% mate as of last summer.

TODAY is all about the Milner money being used to pay off debt - to 2008 levels at Villa. (£70million debts remaining if they get a £30million fee).

Because you're right.

Whilst Everton kept a grip on costs in the Summer of 2009. Villa splurged.

Everton can afford to keep our players in the Summer of 2010.

Villa can't.

Just as I TOLD Goat. Time and Time again.

Not to mention that Lerner has finally installed a respected US football figure in charge of his Cleveland Browns (remember them?)

Mike Holmgren is in his ear - the Clevelanders think all Lerner does is wank $ over his nice boys at Villa while giving no love to the mistake on the lake. This may be also a factor. Those Browns hit bottom last year and are rebuilding yet again, continuing their trend since 1964. (but were still good enough to humiliate my crew in the last game of the season.)

Chico has tight game tho, he can live with the King, the King has no time for Jesters.
GOAT. You were TOLD.

You sound like one those RS idiots. This reflexive anti-americansim is really boring.

don't bother, during the confederations cup he was saying we'd be the worst team and even New Zealand would snot us, and we know how that turned out. you're not going to burst his bubble of misguided British superiority so just let him be.

THIS IS FOR GOAT, on behalf of myself and our American Brethren. GOAT. You were TOLD.

And knowing that, it's lame that he resigns 6 days before the opener. It's not like much has changed in the past 4 months. They're not growing money trees at Villa Park.

Holmgren isn't telling Lerner how to spend his money, he's a football guy not a money man. And the beautiful thing about the NFL is there are salary caps and roster limits. Meaning, you can't spend your way into bankruptcy even if want to. The NFL FORCES it's teams to be profitable.

Mark my words, a salary cap is coming and it's long overdue. The big issue is no one league wants to set a cap and compete against other leagues that are uncapped. However, if Barcelona can't turn a profit, then ffs who can?
