Oscar Pistorius trial discussion

This. Even if it was a burglar, he's given no warning, he would have just killed the burglar in cold blood. Regardless of his motives, he's committed murder for me. His fabricated story does him no favours in my eyes.

I'm pretty sure over here he'd be banged up for murder for killing an actual burglar in those circumstances, even if he lawfully owned a gun.
I saw a video of his house earlier... the bathroom door isn't even one of those that closes properly... it has about a two inch gap underneath it so even a whisper could be heard from the other side.

Are we seriously to believe he just legged it to the toilet door and shot repeatedly? Come on, let's get real. I hope he goes down for this for a long time. What about her taking her phone with her to the bathroom? Do you do that if you're popping to the loo at 3am in the toilet?

Can't imagine the fear his poor girlfriend experienced, if only she'd have gone elsewhere to hide from him, she'd still be alive now. :(

Why did he think a burglar would lock themselves in the toilet?

And why shoot them without identifying them first and stating who you were?

You would check your missus was ok first, tell her to phone the police and then tell the guy in the toilet, that you have a gun pointed at the door and if he tries to come out before the police arrive you'll shoot?

To be fair I do. I use it as a light cos our landing is so dark and I dont want to turn any lights on in case it wakes up the kids. Plus if I'm having a sht I'll check out the internet for a bit.

Far too logical mate.

If he doesn't get life for this their whole system is corrupt.

He's murdered her in cold blood following an argument. Pity she had no brains otherwise she'd have gone elsewhere to get away from him, the poor girl.

Yeah but hot girls like her don't poo, plus he was on the balcony (allegedly :D) so there was no fear of waking the other people in the house.

Surely she'd have turned the lights on if he was awake and she went to the toilet? She must have been there a few minutes as he didn't notice her at all and had time to put on his legs/whatever, then crawl to the door and ready himself and then shoot. What sort of weirdo sits there in pitch black on the toilet?

He's deffo guilty.

I wouldn't really say he's avictim.I'd say at best he's guilty of manslaughter. She was the victim. But your right that we are only speculating. To me it doesn't matter if there was drugs in the house or if he had his false legs on, niether would prove anything.

I don't think he's the victim mate I used that as part of a popular expression meaning he's unlucky that at best a variety of factors have contributed to what's happened and obviously its not hard to see who the victim in this matter is . The substance recovered isn't relevant to the charge but its relevant to explain how information can be manipulated by either side until the full facts are fully established .

The legs are important as he's using that as part of his defence , so if it transpires he was wearing them I'd say his entire defence would collapse almost immediately as he'd be proven to be a liar .

Other than the trajectory of the bullets there may never be any way of knowing if he had his legs on.

If it can't be proven that the bullets came from a standing up position then I fear we'll never know.

Honestly mate i wouldn't say he's 'unlucky at best' either although i know what you mean.
He would be 'guilty of manslaughter' at least if he was in England i think.
Although it may prove he was lying if its proven he had his false legs on, it wouldn't prove he never murdered her if its proven he never had them on. The police shouldn't even be arguing over the drugs because its not really relevant to the charge what they are at this stage.
all just opinions obviously mate.

They appear to be definite that she was on the floor in the toilet when shot, so assuming this can be proven as fact, I'd imagine it won't be too difficult to arrive at a definitive conclusion to that one, given the entry & exit angles on the door he shot through.

Fingers crossed.

I think he'll be bailed in a few moments, money talks.
