Arsenal have signed Mohamed Elneny from FC Basel.

The 23-year-old midfielder spent three years with the Swiss club, making over 90 league appearances and winning three consecutive Super League titles.

He featured 28 times in all competitions in the first half of this season, scoring six goals


Hopefully he can cover for the loss of Coquelin as we've been conceding a lot of silly goals since he got injured.

He should 'sheikh' things up a bit and sounds like he'll be brilliant in a 'pyramid' formation. Let's hope he 'Nile's' down a place in the team.......

Reading up from pundits and journo's that watch him,he seems to be the kind of player we need in midfield. He sounds like a Flamini circa 07/08 season,with an eye for long range goals and a good engine. I give it a month before we drum the long range shooting out of him.

He sounds dedicated enough just hope he adapts quickly as Coquelin isn't back till late February and Cazorla March. If he does well, Mikel Arteta might be taking up those badges and joining the coaching staff sooner rather than later.
