Other Clubs Summer Transfer Speculation

Strange how we've come to a stage in football where money/reputation are now the only important part of a transfer:

"I have spoken to [Real Madrid coach Rafael] Benitez briefly and I'm delighted to be working with such a great coach. I know Benitez from his time at Napoli." said Kovacic.

How can you sign for a new team for 6 years after just a brief chat with the manager? Surely you'd like longer than that to sell the project to you? *sigh*

It makes absolutely no sense either, Nani is a better player, yet they got rid of him on a free. It's bizarre.
According to this, S'ton not in the mood to sell, although Pelle is on the market...

Southampton will reject attempts by Manchester United to sign the striker Sadio Mane, The Independent understands.

There was an inquiry about the 23-year old from United last week, although the level of their interest is unclear given the subsequent failed pursuit of Barcelona winger Pedro this week. As things stand, Southampton are not in a position where they feel they have to sell, especially with three years remaining on the Senegal striker’s contract and his current valuation around £15m.

The club would listen to offers for Graziano Pelle, who at 30 is seven years older than Mane. The Italian has been a good acquisition for Saints but will be out of contract at the end of the next season, 2016-2017. Mane, signed from Red Bull Salzburg one year ago, is expected to improve and the Southampton hierarchy believe that he is too early in his development at their club to be sold now, especially with the season having already begun.

Because it's Madrid, basically...hopefully he gets match time or it's a massive waste for him. Would've loved him here but Ross is quite similar to him and we'd have never been able to afford it.

@GFN_France: Breaking: Florian Thauvin signed for Newcastle without the agent he's under contract with & without consideration of his image rights. (1/2)
@GFN_France: As a result, @Serguei expects legal action to be taken, presumably by the agent who was left out of the deal. More to come. (2/2)
