it's obviously desperation, but if you're a united fan you sit back and think what on earth are they doing? look at the amount of money that club plows in. look at how much they've spent. why are they bothering spending this much on the future? is martial EVER going to be worth more than £36m in his career? they can afford to buy world class players in their peak for that price. so why bother buying youngsters for those figures. buy a ronaldo for the fee they paid yes, but not £36m for a 19 year old. if you look up world football and see all the top top strikers you could buy for that price - it's utter madness and a sign of desperation after missing out on so many top targets this summer.
Big fan of Martial but I don't understand the move.
He's at least 3 years away from being a solid Premier League player, you'd think they'd:
1. Go for a big name - Cavani/Higuain
2. Buy proven quality

ffs sland! that's just as much as you were willing to pay last season. he's worth about £6m, £7m tops. even with the inflated prices. how i wish we could re-couperate the amount they do from sales purely because they've paid well over the top for them in the first place. £25m they've made from fecking carroll and borini. as well as £49m from sterling who was refusing to play or train and would never sign a new deal.
