yep, though I'd say it's pretty hard to play at a constantly good level when your team is very much struggling (like Bremen did this year). Rumors have him linked with us, Wolves, and Monaco (when RB Leipzig stopped going after him due to finances)

I think that is the kind of player our owners are looking to sign — they want us to be challenging for European competitions (HAH that won't be any time soon). I also am surprised that a top 6 club, specifically Arsenal actually, didn't come after him as he seems to be relatively cheap for the PL (~25mil) and that put off Leipzig. Otherwise, I wouldn't think he'd fit in some of the other clubs (a Burnley, Sheffield United, Newcastle etc). The pulling power (cough financial cough) of any PL side is also vastly outweighing a vast majority of the rest of European clubs.

I'm also hopeful this isn't a jinx, but I could see him being signed as a "ready made" Grealish replacement should Man United 'bully' us into selling him for £80mil.

He’d be a really good signing for you if this gets done!

He is such a fun player to watch. Ideally you would have him and Grealish, there is certainly a way both can be in he same team. Rashica is quite comfortable playing all across the forward and attacking mid positions.

Every club with the funds to do so should be doing everything they can to get him in at that price

Defiantly. Even teams who you think don’t need him, well with Thiago, they need him if he’s available!

He is just a very class player to watch as well, everthing with him is effortless.

Show me anything where he has been praised by more than just a few Saints fans. Most have found him uninspiring for quite a while.
It's not so much having a go at his ability it's just he doesn't fit and can't seem to adapt to the way we play!
I personally can't remember anyone doing that about VVD. We did think his performances dropped off once he decided he wanted to leave.

What are the chances of you taking Walcott off us?

Also i read that if Hojbjerg had chosen us then you would have been interested in one or two of our players in a swap deal as well -- any rumours your end on who they may have been?

Whats the score with Luiz? He seemed a different player after lockdown. Was it a case of growing into the league or has he been decent all season?

Very injury prone though isnt he...

Very injury prone though isnt he...

He had a few injuries earlier on in his Bayern career for sure including a ligament injury that saw him miss a long spell. I don’t think he’s missed too much last 2 years apart from the groin injury he recently had where he missed the last few games but is back now.

I’d be stunned if Man City don’t make a big push to sign him. Pep Guardiola loved him as a player. One of the best midfielders he’s ever had, and he’s had a few at his disposal.

If its not due to injuries then why is the fee so low?

1 year left on his contract I think, and he's pushing 30. I've said it on here before, but Bayern don't tend to lose players until they're absolutely finished.

They have tried to get him to sign new deal for ages. I think this is one situation where they might lose a player who is still very important to them. I agree otherwise, it is usually on their terms. But they have been very honest about the Thiago situation, same with David Alaba, they have wanted both signed to new contracts for ages. But having trouble getting it done. They have given up with Thiago and are open to his wishes to leave. They still hope Alaba will sign new contract.
