May be ten a penny for Chelsea who are churning players out but they ate making excellent profits on them which is great business. Apart from Ampadu, the rest are good quality and have a lot of PL games.

Meanwhile we are struggling to get Scottish 2nd leagie clubs to play our kids.

I saw that and thought of you. Seems a really matched up plan with Viera coming in. I think it's a big fee for a lad who hasn't played above the championship yet, but he's a great age.

In a lot of ways, and I don't mean dismissively at all, but it's the perfect signing for Palace really. Local lad, probably go straight into the 1st team, and will only get better with games.

Agree with all of that mate. If we can re sign Cahill or get another experienced CB of a reasonable age then we have three solid CB’s (with James Tomkins).
We can’t afford the established, experienced EPL players so have to take a bit of a risk on some. Better than flinging dough at the old mercenaries looking for one last pay day which has so often been the Palace way.

I'd be very encouraged by this summer if I were supporting Palace.

Something we know a bit about too, hoping our policy moves towards youngsters this summer

Cos they've stock piled for years and farmed them out on loan constantly (29 out on loan last season). There's players on their books who have never played a senior game but have been at the club for decades.

Lotus Cheek, Tomori, Brown, Ampadu, then there's big hits like Solanke, Ake. Common denominator is that they're standard academy fair in my view.

Just because they make a profit on them doesn't mean they're good. See the RS with Brewster etc.
