They spent 2 years in the Championship accruing a lot of money from parachute payments. PL TV money is good but it'll even out in the end considering we had no cup runs or Europe either.

If FFP went for them, it goes for us.

Just doing some 'back of a fag packet' calculations about the spending of Villa - If the Bailey transfer goes through, it looks like they have spent 330m Euros in the past 3 years - and recouped a mere 12m Euros

Everton in the same period have spent 198m Euros and recouped 85m Euros

It doesn’t, but at least we are making some kind of effort to comply with the spirit of the rules. It’s not like we are going out and splurging money this summer. We are actively trying to get things under control.

But if Villa were to not sell Grealish, it would be blatant disregard for FFP and premier league profitability and sustainability.

All it was meant to do was prevent another PSG or City popping up. It's been a decade since PSG and no one knew has done what they did. So it's working.

4 year contract for McCarthy who is a complete sick note. Decent when fit. Rarely fit.

Mccarthy should do well up there, if fit.

But to give such an injury prone player a 4 year deal, is pretty crazy to me. I don't see any way he is still fit and playing at a high level in 4 years time.
