What kept out of 4th a few times was lack of depth. Spurs look like they have that now.

Spurs have an inbuilt inferiority complex in the pressure games which trips them up to often. The squad quality has been beyond Arsenals for a few years like you say.

Not sure how you draw the conslusion that we 'always underachieve'. The top three places are already decided. That leaves 4th place up for grabs. This usually comes down to a battle between us and Woolwich who have a 66K stadium with the highest ticket prices in the country.
We have had four 5th place and two 4th place finished in the last eight seasons.
I think with the resources at our disposal we do pretty well.

Marouane Chamakh to Palace probably on a 6month loan. He did well when originally at Arsenal and has goals in the Champions League for Bordeaux (not that that is ever likely to concern us lol). I reckon he will be really good for us, better than Carlton Cole (who wanted £40k a week and has subsequently been told by St Etienne that he is not fit enough to join.....I am presuming that is the French football club rather than the 80's band with the fit bird lead singer....)

Signed today on a one year permanent deal with an option for next season.
