i reckon he could get a second chance here.

If kone and valencia don't score or offer anything and he keeps doing well for the reserves then maybe a couple months down the line koeman decides to give him a second chance to prove himself?
He only scored a two-yard tap in agains the local blind school, like. For a 13m striker earning 50k a week, he needs to be banging in several goals a game in the reserves to start even thinking about knocking on the manager's door demanding a first team chance.

I doubt this very much mate.

perspective here. If he is scoring and improving for the reserves and all koeman has at his disposal is kone and valenica. Is it too far fetched to think that maybe he throws him back in when he needs someone who can at least hit the target? Not any time soon but 2-3 months down the line when rom is on his arse and we need some sort of change.

Same akin to promoting a young striker, pulling in the reserves best one just to stick on the bench and use as an option. not sure who our best striker is in the reserves currently is though.

Thankfully, last night's defeat means we'll be playing a maximum of one game a week for the rest of the season, so Lukaku getting burnout shouldn't be happening. Maybe it's all part of the masterplan.

i would be happy with that scenario either way haha

i'm not saying i want niasse to play, just considering the option. for 50 grand a week we a paying him anyway!

A list like that sort of makes it look like he was a little unlucky. The reality is very different. The first signings that moron made was of the entire spine of the Wigan team that had just been relegated, ie Robles, Alcaraz, Mccarthy, and Kone. What the hell made him think they would perform better than they had done when relegated?
It seems unbelievable that he did that, in hindsight, as if he has no clue what a good player looks like and needed the comfort blanket of mediocrity. McCarthy was very good that first season, though (recall reading red Mancs saying at the time they should have signed him instead of Fellaini), so it didn't look as bad - one excellent player and three squad players. Now that McCarthy has been shown to be non-excellent it does look as tragically bad as you say - the spine of Wigan Athletic imported to Goodison park to play football.

Be mad not to give him a second chance, we're paying his (substantial) wages and he's here.

Never going to be first choice. Ever.
It would be mad to play him - we'd be making a show of ourselves. Starting Leighton Baines or Phil Jagielka as centre forward would be 1000 times more effective as they are premiership footballers. Bill K's not one for crooked transfers, whatever you think of him, but something very bad has happened here with Oumar. Fortunately RK knows the score and is drawing a line under it rather than holding the club up to further ridicule.

Absolutely amen to this.
