No agenda here either, this transfer is unfortunatly as bad as it gets. I found it inconceivable to believe how technically poor he was from hearsay, then I've watched him play. It's akin to Ali Dia, except we are 14m short of pocket.

Its nothing like Ali Dia. Dia was a chancer who played non league football and a few years in the Finnish fifth division or wherever it was.

Niasse is an international player who has played in the top flights of decent footballing nations.

Im not even saying he is good, he probably isnt, but there is no relation to the Dia thing.

The point I was making was that we have a player who is comically out of his depth, who's rocked up at Finch Farm to have two managers write him off almost instantly. It can't be any coincidence that the same thing happened when he trained with the SK Brann 2nd string.
There has been no con artistry per se so maybe the Dia comparison was farfetched, but I think we can all agree the whole transfer stinks.

No I disagree. We have just signed a player who didnt work out. Happens at loads of clubs. Look at Bebe for example.

Poor oumar.

To be fair he held his line well for the shot

1 game though, i'm sure there are about 14 games over the last 2 seasons (plus a couple this season) where you see similar comical moments from some of our world class (cough, cough) players, especially Rom and Ross. Hell I even saw Geri do a pirouette and fall over the ball on sunday - imagine if Niasse had done that!

1 game at Leicester where we were horrific and a cameo against West Ham, when he was clearly at fault for the 3 goals we conceded and people know he's a fake. The amount of people that are now claiming to have seen him play regularly is funny too, considering our reserve games are not live and only about 30 people turn up to watch.

Who is the guy on here who goes to watch the reserve and youth teams quite regularly, id like to hear his opinion.

I called him as soon as I saw him against West Ham, he just looked lost his positionalsense was absolutely awful and he just didn't know what to do or where to go, it was beyond bizarre. He was given his chance againstLeicester and still looked incompetent.

For koeman to come in, watch him in preseason and say "if he wants to play football he needs to leave" says it all really. He took his locker off him ffs, he's a dud.

But personally I really want to see him given one more chance, just to make that final.assessment and prove his inability to play football at the top level

....in terms of the players ability, it's interesting. Clearly, so much analysis is undertaken these days into a players detailed statistics, indeed there is a school of thought that statistical analysis actually informs transfer targets. With this in mind, a simple look at Wiki tells me;

- Niasse played in the Senegal league for 6 years, 154 games and 102 goals. That's a very decent return but we don't know the standard and you have to think he wouldn't have been there that long if he was good.

- he went to Brann (Norway) on a 6 month loan but failed to impress, playing only 3 games.

- he moved to a Turkish side, scoring 12 in 45.

- finally ending up at Lokomotive in a 5m Euro deal notching 12 in 28 games.

- 0 goals in 6 games for Senegal U21, 3 in 8 for the full side.

There is nothing in those stats to convince anybody to take a £13m plunge. I wouldn't know what greater detail Everton's analysts had access to but you would have to be convinced via lengthy scouting visits before embarking on such a deal. From what we know, extensive scouting was not undertaken.

As mentioned by others, there's a bad smell about this transfer. It might explain why Niasse has kept his own counsel whilst playing with the youngsters.

If your view in the last paragraph is the case, why then did we pay the ex-manager £10M and his entourage a few more £M if they had grossly derelicted their duties and signed a dud? Just doesn't make sense. Sure ly we could have sacked them for professional negligence.

I don't know about the 'bad smell' aspect, but I'm at a loss as to why we paid £13m for him.

Why he was valued at that is beyond me. Why we actually handed it over is even more puzzling.
