2017/18 Oumar Niasse

So, we have a goalscoring striker after all.

Maybe Koeman doesn't like the striker scoring all the goals.
How else do you explain his treatment of Niasse?

In terms of where we want to be and where the board should be putting us, I think allowing him to go the full season leading the line would be completely outrageous.

As far as calling him a joker ok maybe that was extreme but he is a bang average premier league player and any of the top 6 would not be touching him with a barge pole at this point.

That's a bit of a coincidence as at the moment we are bang average and I can't see any decent striker touching us with a barge pole either at this point

The whole Niasse thing perplexes me. When
Oumar first played I saw as much promise as I do now in Sandro and Klaassen. That was when Martinez was still manager and many here were rubbishing both the player (unjustly) and manager (justly). Maybe those who think the summer signings were a waste of the Lukaku money should take heed.

I'm always quick to admit my mistakes so feel justified pointing out when my gut instinct was proved right. One thing is for sure though - I bet Bobby had a smile on his face yesterday. If only he'd had a bit of defense nous he might still be here.

I'm bloody glad he's not thank you.

Most of us on here thought Niasse was shocking (Russian gangsters and money laundering had crossed my mind – he was that bad haha). A few people have commented on his inability to control a ball in the warm up before a game, so the fact that Koeman, and the players could see Niasse in training would only have lowered their opinion of him. Lukaku described him as “raw” (which I took to mean “crap). It turns out that Niasse can play only one way – all out.

If you look at his goals, most of them are explosive – he is competing, and is all out. He can’t do that in training. People get hurt. (Was there also not an instance when he injured Deulofeu in pre-season last year?).

Koeman’s treatment of Niasse was brutal, but you can’t really blame him for not playing him. You can’t even blame him for wanting rid of him – Not from what he must have seen in training.

He's a forward thinking type of player is Tom, top top player and hopefully with more experience he'll be the one driving us forward. The pass on Wednesday was suoerb and today's was fantastic in a pressure situation. Great run though by Oumar so massive credit to him because I've accused him of the little time he had minutes for us as hiding from the ball. No complaints today with those 2 finishes

Right now what the team needs more than anything else is passion and a bit of pace, both should be playing, so should Kenny and Holgate, all 4 are faster than what we are playing instead, all 4 show a lot more desire during a game than what we have as well
