I'm sorry mate but there's very little to back koeman in terms of how he handle niasse.

7 league goals in 5 u23 last season. Is that not good enough to play the role of Valencia? This guy is simple overlook and treated badly.

I just simply don't agree that there was any reason Niasse should have featured last year.

1) We had Lukaku who was scoring for fun
2) The team was winning and improving
3) We had no Europe
4) We were knocked out of both cups extremely early.

Reading all the twitter feeds yesterday and 1 thing strikes you. When this lad first turned up the whole club including the youth teams where laughing at his inadequacies. yesterday, not only has this lad won over the crowd, the players have all seem to have taken to him massively, even the lads kept on the bench or just out the team. (stay humble, work hard, engage with the fans and keep a positive atitude) the everton way to success.

For me this shows the qualities in Unsworth. Niasse was hopeless when he arrived but has developed considerably during his time in the U23s. Hull where very unfortunate to be relegated and I am certain Palace would have at least 1 goal had they signed him.

The fact that Koeman left him out of the Europa squad of 25 is baffling.

Not true. Niasse could have play the role of Valencia. Koeman simply refuse to give him a chance.
Look, the biggest credit should be given to unsworth for not giving up on him and steadily improve his game till he is ready for the first team. Not koeman.
Yes what we can take from this is that Unsworth and Silva are better coaches and man managers!

That argument doesn't hold water I'm afraid. Danny Murphy said on MOTD that when he saw him for Hull at end of last season he'd improved a lot. Personally I hadn't taken much notice but when I saw him for U23's against Spurs it seemed pretty clear that he'd improved considerably. This was confirmed when he played against Sunderland. Koeman had to be aware of this but yet was still happy to ship him out on deadline day with no replacement. The guy hasn't even put him in our Europa League squad.

Personally think Silva is a very very good manager (Hull and now Watford boss), some managers just have the ability of improving players they work with

Funny thing is - a fair few of the under 23's and the senior players who where laughing at him have been shipped off to lower leagues etc now, this lad just scored a brace to win us 3 points...

Should be a moral in there someplace

Agreed. But I think Niasse is a really weird player to work out. We bought him on the strength of his performances playing for Lokomotiv Moscow, but when he got to Everton, he looked like he'd never played the game in his life. Martinez didn't see anything in training that justified him getting a game. Problem with that was, when he did give him game time, it was actually painful to watch. Koeman has come in, and probably seen the same thing in training, and thought "no way is this guy good enough" - So I can't really blame him for wanting to get rid of him. After playing at U23 level, and his time at Hull, Koeman was probably as surprised as the rest of us. In pre-season, Niasse may have been poor again, and Koeman probably thought "Nah. Nothing has changed. He's still not good enough".

I can forgive Koeman for getting the enigma that is Oumar Niasse, wrong. His team selections, on the other hand.....

He was absolutely woeful his first season in Moscow, very nearly shipped off during the summer after that until they sold their striker (to Hull i think) and he got a chance playing up front centrally (rather than mostly from a wide forward spot)

I know one thing for sure, his touch is no worse than Lukaku's, his movement and attitude is better. If we play him I'm sure he will get into double figures comfortably, but there is still a reservation about him. Still I hope he plays the next few games and chips in with a few more. Who knows??
