Koeman made it clear that he wanted a CF,I'd imagine we had a list of three or four but if either their clubs wouldn't sell,the price quoted was ridiculously high or the players didn't want to come,then we just go for anyone?,which brings us back to Niasse.

I don't think it was a coincidence that when the £35m Barkley bid was received there was a reported £35m bid for Benfica striker Raul Jimenez. When the Barkley deal fell through, Marca reported Everton attempted to get the player on loan. That's my take.

I agree, too many coincidences with money coming in and transfers out.

Sadly it's all supposition based on media reports,a bit like our reasons for signing Niasse I wouldn't be surprised if Martinez's people read he was Russian player of the year and believed it.I know it's going off topic on this thread,but better we persevere with DCL and Ramirez rather than sign just anybody to appease the fan base.I think the Niasse signing should once and for all put an end to panic purchases.

What's the point of a loan? Sell yes but a loan is just silly for a player who plays in the one position we are desperately short in

Agents are ruining the game and if allowed to go on unchecked may cause irreparable damage.Somehow doubt Platini cares much though.

i do feel sorry for niasse... but he was absolutely awful every time he put on the royal blue jersey!
