I still think Richarlison

100%

James adds that quality and God forbid we lose him - he is a difference maker.

But for overall in terms of contributing to both attack and defence I think it's Richarlison.

The example in the cup game and the Brighton match should be enough for me. Him going off knocked us in both matches.

all of them create a system that is a cohesive unit, held together by the tactical awareness of Carlo the great, a man who's moving the cogs of the machine into position to create a whole greater than the sum of it's parts'

Might not be valid, but the only legitimate answer in my view.

I would say Allan just for his role as a spoiler. He breaks up the play and wins us the midfield battle which is something we have lacked for a very long time. Without him James wouldnt be getting anywhere near as much ball time.

Doucoure did manage to take on Allan's role to some extent in the Brighton game as a spoiler, but he obviously wants to attack more and be box to box. So don't think he could be relied to always fill that role

James, Richarlison, Allan, Doucoure, DCL have all been fantastic this season. Digne, Mina, Coleman, Keane are not far off and could join in with that top 5. Gomes, Iwobi, Bernard, Gordon and Nkonkou are all demanding regular minutes when they play. I've also seen Siggurdson and Davies have upped their games and I thought Tom Davies really did well with being forced into right back which is not his normal position. The whole squad is doing well. There seems to be a real unity in the squad as well which is great to see. This all comes from Ancelotti. Long winded as I don't know who to pick!

I think that it's obvious by his absence in my list what I think about Pickford. He was great in the Spurs game as I thought he looked the business. However he has looked shakey since.

Richarlison. His energy & desire spreads throughout the team. He's also our most valuable player by far. Well over £100m in value & only going up. We haven't seen his peak yet & is still young.

We'll see how reliant we are on James when he's out injured or unavailable. The "top-of-the-table" sexy, fluid, orgasmic Everton of the opening weeks of the season will quickly be replaced by, hopefully, a well-drilled, organised, competent, and well-balanced version that lacks only the galactico fantasy he brings. Worse-case scenario is it is replaced by stodgy, constipated, mid-table Everton waddling pompously and ineffectively across the pitch like elderly rheumatoid crustaceans.

On the basis that the question is most important, not best, I've gone for Pickford. How he plays this year will have the biggest impact on our success.

I just pray the extra competition from Olsen has a positive impact.

Hamez is our most talented player but watch Brighton and West Ham after Richarlison goes off. We have to play so much deeper and struggle a lot more to play our way out.

Richarlison's graft off the ball to help us win the ball back under pressure or from the front, along with his attacking threat that keeps opposing players pinned back and making space for Digne and the midfield is invaluable.

Can't wait for him to start banging them in, he really deserves the goals.
