I know Dyche beat him 2 times last year and won 4/5 vs him.

Don't forget they had one of the worst injury records in the whole league apart from missing their most important player for the majority of the season, who is gone completely now.

I am sure they will play a better season this time and finish mid-table, did a good job on the market.

I like Frank and think he’s a decent manager

But the fact is if he served up what he did last three seasons at Brentford here he’d be getting hounded out the club by the fans

Injuries are not an excuse at Everton (apparently).

I think the internet has largely made most fanbases poisonous now. Spurs fans want Postecoglou out now a mere 12 months after he was a ‘breath of fresh air’. His football is front foot all out attack but Spurs fans are sick and tired of it being predictable with no plan B.

What it comes down to is the football is largely irrelevant, results are all that matter and in this digital age unless you are Pep Guardiola winning every week then you are going to get slammed by fans who just cannot abide any sort of loss of face now. Even some City fans call Pep a bald fraud who tinkered too much in big games and termed Mahrez ‘ffs Mahrez’.

Whoever we get as a new manager he’s on an absolute hiding to nothing from the second we’re linked with him.

Mate were bottom of the league no fan would be happy with that

Am I the only one who thinks Davide Ancelotti could be shout if he'd be up for it?

Never actually managed a football club before... but neither did Arteta.

Been working with his dad for years at some of the biggest clubs in the world. Surely at least some of his experience has rubbed off on him in this time?

Actually spent time here as well, of course.
He'd be my choice.
Not sure how bitter a taste was left after his time here.
I doubt he'd ever work for Moshiri again. But maybe new owner.
I think he liked the city and club.
I think he has the experience. But he'd also have one of the best managers ever as mentor and would have access to excellent loan signings.
Let him put his own back room team in place.

I'm all for risking relegation with a young progressive manager than staying 15-17 with the likes of Moyes or Dyche.

Moyes wouldn’t have survived his early seasons with us if fan sentiment was like it was now. The 17th and heavy losses would have been ‘completely unacceptable’. We’d have then missed out on the brilliant job he did after that taking us into Europe and securing the club at what was a very perilous time financially.

Managers used to get given time. A common parlance was at least a few seasons. Now it’s a handful of games.

I dunno.
Memory a bit hazy but after Kendall III and Smith, I think everyone was happy enough to try a young up coming manager (with no PL experience).
I don't remember Moyse's first season to well but I dont think it was a relegation battle. Yeah, we finished 17 but we dropped off a lot once we were pretty much safe if I racall.
Also I think he was saying all the right things and making the right changes.
Dont really remember anyone being frustrated with him TBH.

But he's not the right man for the job now.

Exactly. No one was really frustrated with him back then. Can you imagine now though? A manager comes in gets us top half and then next season we’re 17th? This place would absolutely erupt.

After relegation battles under Lampard, and upcoming financial constraints, the backdrop is not really that different to when Moyes took over. We were circling the drain in financial difficulty on both occasions. Moyes got time and patience. Dyche has done a similar job (kept us up initially, progression the season after) yet is hounded.

I honestly dont think it would.
A young manager whos clearly changing things and has a once in a generation super star.
There was never a risk of relegation.
Fans would be fine with that now.

Hmm still think he’d do better than the arrogant dinosaur that’s currently employed now. All he has to do is drop Keane and already he’s done a better job
