I honestly dont think it would.
A young manager whos clearly changing things and has a once in a generation super star.
There was never a risk of relegation.
Fans would be fine with that now.

You really think if we had a manager who had a prime Wayne Rooney in his ranks and came 17th after benching him loads that people on here would be fine?

Some nearly sent themselves to A&E because a kid they’d never seen kick a ball didn’t start the season opener for us.

Exactly. No one was really frustrated with him back then. Can you imagine now though? A manager comes in gets us top half and then next season we’re 17th? This place would absolutely erupt.

After relegation battles under Lampard, and upcoming financial constraints, the backdrop is not really that different to when Moyes took over. We were circling the drain in financial difficulty on both occasions. Moyes got time and patience. Dyche has done a similar job (kept us up initially, progression the season after) yet is hounded.
Moyes was new to it so people didn’t know exactly what they were getting, everyone knows what Dyche is hence no one really wants him anymore. I would take an up and coming manager over a dinosaur, a young manager who has a lot more bottle and will actually play his signings.

The fans would go mad if any half decent player was on the bench, whatever Moyes did actually worked and helped Rooney in the long run, which he admitted as he got older.

The fans as they are now would not accept any manger having us 17th with a world class striker sat on the bench. It would just never happen. Whether it works or not is irrelevant to the fan base now. Doesn’t matter what profile the manager is.

Would assume that Textor would have a big say in any decision to sack Dyche and whomever else was got in as a replacement. It would be a bizarre situation but if he is going to takeover in a matter of months, then better he had a role in the decisions than not I guess.

It wouldn't say much if all they do could was bring Moyes in. Surely that wouldn't happen if Textor was involved.

The only scenario I could see Moyes coming in is if they were desperate and turned down by several others. Then he would be offered a contract to the end of the season. I don't think he'd take it under those circumstances.

Be a lot better all this if we won some games. But they must surely be looking at options now. How many more defeats can Dyche survive? Surely not many. But I'd never want to lose games to bring about changes.

Don't agree either that they can't sack Dyche. A way would be found if that's want they decide on. He can't really have any complaints.

Moyes would have been under a lot of pressure had he repeated the performance of 03/04, but he went and achieved 4th place instead. Moyes was actually under the most pressure the season after his 4th placed finish, due the utterly abject start to the 05/06 season.

It will be someone foreign

Vault me britches
i think they should put an advert out and get someone off the streets to do it personally. it wouldn’t cost them anything in comparison and at least they would put their heart and soul into it paying these managers millions due to being an ex player at all levels etc clearly doesn’t work for clubs like us so give it to someone who would be able to be in touch with the fans having been one and i bet they couldn’t do any worse then we are already doing. i’ve got loads of friends who manage teams and do well okay not with multi million pound players etc but doesn’t mean they couldn’t do it

At the time Moyes was an up and coming manager, the football is terrible.

I think potter , tactics wise and the ability to trust and develop young players would be an ideal fit, its just that hes mentioned in the past hes been easily affected by fan discontent maybe do some boo training go to some brentford or southampton games in the stands as they despise brighton to toughen him up
